One reason I created this blog is to share my experience, knowledge and passion on the maintenance of our bodies. I come across plenty of articles on this topic and there’s one I read recently that I’d like to share. It’s based on groundbreaking research published in Frontiers in Neuroscience. The study shows that weight-bearing exercise utilizing, specifically, the body’s large leg muscles are critical for brain and nervous system health. A couple of highlights from the study;
Restricting exercise lowers the amount of oxygen in the body which alters metabolism and impacts a gene that releases energy the body can use.
Cutting back on exercise makes it difficult for the body to produce new nerve cells.

The message I’d like to leave you with – incorporate weight-bearing leg exercises in your routine 2-3 times a week! Below you’ll find two links to lower body exercises, one is more on the beginner spectrum the other is for the more advance client. For the beginner exercises, I suggest you use two dumbbells (5 lbs each) one in each hand.
