Stress Relieving Tips

Considering what the world is currently experiencing, I was moved to share a few stress relieving tips that have worked for me. I hope someone will find them useful.

Take A Walk In Nature
There truly is something calming about a nature walk; the sky, the clouds, the breeze, and the sound of our footsteps. Indulge yourself in the simplicity and truly take in that moment of beauty.

Aromatherapy
Our sense of smell has a strong influence on our emotions.
The essential oils Lavender, Clary Sage and Chamomile are known for their calming effects. Rosemary, Basil, and Eucalyptus are known to improve energy levels. Click here to learn how to use them.

Journal It
Remember keeping a diary as a kid? I do! I kept them well into my… well, I never really stopped! The only difference is, that now I call it a journal, instead of a diary. It’s a powerful, cleansing, and revealing process. Write your emotions, concerns, hopes, goals, and any fears down. Be completely transparent – it’s your safe zone, no judgement.

Movement Therapy, Music Therapy

I write movement because there is such a large array to choose from and enjoy; dance, yoga, running, weight training, zumba, etc. Choose what makes you happy! I added music in because I wouldn’t do this photo justice if I hadn’t! I find music/sound very therapeutic. Whether you are dancing to it, falling asleep to it or meditating to it – evokes inspiring emotions and feeds the soul.

Get A Massage
What kind of massage therapist would I be if I did not mention massage!
Remember, it doesn’t have to be a spa massage for you to reap its stress relieving benefits. If you are not able to make it to one or don’t have access to one, simply exchange foot rubs with your family member – it’s a win-win. Other options, foam rolling, self-massage to your calves/hands, get in a bath for a sudsy massage. It’s important to keep your breathing rhythmic and deep to enhance its effects.

Let’s take care of ourselves and each other. Be well!

Stand Tall, Breathe Deep!
